Presentation of Mobile Treatment Centre to St John Cambridge

 stjohn jul18

Off we went to Huntingdon, the HQ of the Cambridge St John Ambulance. Come in have a cup of tea, immediate first aid; very welcome. A room full of St John volunteers all who were delighted to be present to witness ‘their’ ambulance being presented.

We were graced by the presence of the Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, the Dean of Peterborough cathedral and several mark master masons of East Anglia and their wives and partners.

A speech of welcome, followed by my bit as to why and how, thanks from the Deputy Lieutenant and how this vehicle will make a difference and thanks from the High Sheriff. A lovely blessing and sprinkling with holy water followed from the Dean.

Then it was my turn to present the keys to a volunteer, Stephen came forward and we presented him with the keys to the Treatment vehicle. It was a short but very enjoyable morning with huge enthusiasm from St John and great support from the Province.

Duties like these make you proud to be a member of our wonderful order to give such worthy gifts to further enhance care in our communities and make a difference.

Thank you MBF and congratulations for still giving in your 150th year.
