EAMBA Grant to support face shields for Care Home Staff and the NHS

I am delighted to announce that today we have approved this grant to aid in the fight on the front line by our valiant care home staff and the NHS.

The shields are free of charge, with the fundraising buying materials and printer parts and supplies. Colin Breckons is being helped by Masons collecting materials and delivering the shields. Colin is working from home, but publicity has lead to a team of helpers with 3d printers around the Norwich area, increasing output. One of his customers has been Cornwallis Court, plus local GP surgeries in Norwich and Broadland, and the hospitals in Norwich, Yarmouth and King's Lynn.

Andrew Gale from Oaklair Packaging is producing these for us. The visor is a 325 micron thick APet material with an elastic comfort strap. It is die cut and covers the entirety of the the head against splash and droplets helping minimise
transmission risk. This version is already in James Paget NNUH Theatre Surgeons and staff. It is reusable and easily cleaned should staff find themselves at that point.
